Mission, Vision, and Values pt. 2
Updated: Mar 31
In the last post, you got a chance to hear a bit about our mission to restore man’s connection to God’s creation. When we were first conceptualizing a family business in 2022, we sat down and talked through our specific values under the umbrella of this mission. Ultimately, as a family we decided our priority was to be mission driven first and foremost, and that products and profit would follow. In today’s blog, you will find four of the values we mapped out at the start of Shula!
One of the key points under our value for God’s creation was exploring the biblical uses of natural materials and representing those in our products.
While not all of our ingredients are taken directly from the Bible, scripture is a major source of inspiration in our creation process. For example, our hibiscus face oil was created based on the scriptural reference “rose of sharon.” Otherwise known as ‘hibiscus syriacus,’ the rose of sharon is a cousin of hibiscus flowers. This discovery led us to experimenting with hibiscus due to not only its biblical significance, but the subsequent skin benefits we read about in our research process!
Integrity, excellence, and transparency
From sourcing to the final product, we want the people who use our products to feel at ease knowing that we prioritize uncompromising quality and full disclosure of ingredients in our products. To us, the means are just as important as the end result and we are committed to operating our business with this value. We use organic and/or wildcrafted ingredients whenever possible and are careful to source from companies who share these values as well.
Empower people to make informed decisions for their health
Not only do we want to create clean, effective products, we have a high value and heart for providing education to people on a wide array of health-related topics. We aim to be not just a supplier of goods but also a resource for you to learn about holistic health for the mind, body, soul, and spirit from scientific, spiritual, and experiential lenses. Subscribe to our blog at the bottom of the page here if you’d like to follow along for more educational content!
While this doesn’t culminate all of our values, the last one I will bring up today is legacy. We want to leave a lasting impact on overall health, wellness, and empowerment that extends far beyond when you reach the end of your jar of balm. We would love for all people to be equipped to advocate for health and wellness for themselves and loved ones. Thank you for trusting us to be a drop in the bucket of the ripple effect your lives will have on your children, family, friends, and strangers alike.
